Teachers' Day is a day filled with respect and warmth, and it's a wonderful time to express gratitude to our teachers for their hard work. To promote the traditional virtue of respecting teachers and valuing education, the Shanghai You Dao Public Welfare Service Center ttle Hands make Little Flowers – Happy Gifts for Teacher’s Day” held a special flower-making activity at the Fifth Residential Committee of Fengpu Subdistrict on the afternoon of September 6, 2025. Children were invited to express their true feelings through their handmade creations, presenting handmade flowers full of childlike fun and gratitude to their most beloved teachers.
“一朝沐杏雨，一生念师恩。”教师节，是一个充满敬意与温情的日子，更是我们向辛勤付出的老师们表达感谢的美好时刻。为弘扬尊师重教的传统美德，2025年9月6日下午上海忧道公益服务中心在奉浦街道第五居委举办了一场别开生面的“巧手”生花，童心献礼——感恩教师节”扭扭棒手工花创作活动，让孩子们以手工作品传递真情，把一朵朵充满童趣与感恩的手工花，献给最敬爱的老师。
At the beginning of the activity, the teacher explained to the children the beautiful meanings of sunflowers and hydrangeas: sunflowers represent "sunshine and growth", symbolizing the fact that teachers illuminate the children's growth path like sunshine; hydrangeas mean "tolerance, gratitude and warm companionship", just like the teacher's selfless care and teaching every day.
活动伊始，老师为孩子们讲解了向日葵与绣球花的美好寓意：向日葵代表着“阳光与向上”，象征老师如阳光般照亮孩子的成长之路；绣球花则寓意“包容、感恩与温暖的陪伴”，正如老师平日无私的关怀与教导。
The teacher then carefully showed them how to make potted sunflowers and hydrangeas using twist-sticks—from bending petals and shaping leaves to assembling the flower plates and assembling the bouquets. The children were delighted, their hands deftly twisting, securing, and adjusting the twist-sticks. From their fingertips, the ordinary twist-sticks gradually blossomed into vibrant, unique, and loving handmade flowers.
随后，老师细致演示了扭扭棒向日葵和绣球花盆栽的制作方法——从弯折花瓣、捏制叶片，到拼接花盘、组合花束，每一个步骤都耐心指导。孩子们兴致盎然，小手灵活地缠绕、固定、调整，原本普通的一根根扭扭棒，渐渐在指尖绽放为一朵朵生动别致、充满爱意的手工花。
At the end of the event, the children held up the flowers they had made themselves and sent their blessings in the loudest and clearest voices: "Teacher, I wish you a happy holiday!" The sincere smiling faces and unique flowers, which were full of gratitude and love, warmed everyone present.
活动最后，孩子们纷纷捧起自己亲手制作的手工花，用最响亮、最清澈的童音齐声送上祝福：“老师，祝您节日快乐！”一张张真挚的笑脸，一朵朵独一无二的花朵，凝聚着满满的感恩与爱，温暖了在场的每一个人。
This activity not only honed the children's hands-on skills and creativity, but also allowed them to deeply appreciate the meaning of gratitude and giving back in a warm and joyful atmosphere.
