Charity Golf Tournament

The SRC Charity Golf Tournament took place on Friday 22nd. November 2013 at Silport Golf Club. It was a huge success. With generous support and sponsorship from the Shanghai Racquet Club, more than 80 people participated in the event and everybody had fun taking part in not only golf games, but also charity games. Soon after the last few players arrived, lunch was served at 10:30. Silport was extremely generous in serving delicious food for the buffet with a wide range of choices. Under the sound of a shot-gun, twenty two flights of players teed-off together. The weather was, thankfully, very pleasant. The sun hung high in the sky, radiating its wonderful rays of warmth and reminding people of those joyful summer days.  Back in the clubhouse, the Committee members and staff immediately started to prepare activities for the dinner. Tables were set up on the 2nd floor for auction items, prizes for the raffles and superlative awards.

Dinner was waiting for the players at the dining area when they returned. Again, Silport served up another delicious buffet with even more scrumptious food this time around. Each table also had bottles of wine generously donated by our sponsor, Kel Group Ltd. Over the loud chitchat of players busily and excitedly discussing their golf games and results, music played in the background, accompanying a photo slideshow of moments of the day.

Michael Lucas took wonderful photos! As people began to finish the last bites of their meal, emcee of the night, Pablo Eguiguren, also director of SRC Tennis, welcomed everyone to a night of fun and activities.  Yeries, General Manager of SRC, expressed her gratitude for having the chance to run such a meaningful event. Afterwards, the Auction began, which featured items of fine art, antique objects and hotel vouchers. Everything was in hot demand, and the auction went smoothly.

Following the auction, ED Josephine and Chairman, Warren gave a few words of appreciation and gratitude. However the event did not end just yet. There were still the raffles! Prizes included everything from tennis rackets and bags to hotel beverages and bottles of wine. Thank you to all the donors and sponsors. The atmosphere was filled with suspense and surprises, everybody went home with something. Nobody left empty handed. Although it was a long and tiring day, both for the players and the volunteers/staff, it was a day well spent.  Most importantly, money was raised for a good cause, bringing the world one step closer to a better place, for us and the migrants.
