Sports Day at the Rugby Club 2014

In the afternoon of 18th May 2014, the You Dao Sports Day was successfully held as scheduled in the Pudong Rugby club. More than 100 Children from two migrant schools - Fengxian Mengtong School and Jiading Malu Cangchang School - interacted with enthusiastic volunteers from 10 corporates and social teams.

There were four different kinds of sport on offer: football, soccer , baseball and cricket. The lovely children soon mastered the rudiments of the games with patient guidance from coach and volunteers. During the activities, the children and volunteers had good interaction. The novel format and challenging rules of the game made the children and volunteers enjoy a lot of fun and everyone had a wonderful and memorable afternoon.

After the sports games, volunteers and children became friends. Everybody in the group exposed a photographic smile and hoped this beautiful moment could be recorded in photo forever.

Through this event, the children learnt the knowledge of different sports;  understood how to collaborate with each other; they also felt cared and attended to through interacting with volunteers. Volunteers did their job when they offered help and care to those migrant children.

Photo charity sales was introduced at the You Dao Sports Day, with successful results. There was a warm response from the volunteers of the companies and communities. The sum collected all went to the You Dao fund which can provide more support to poor migrant families and children.

You Dao would like to take the opportunity to show appreciation to all corporates and communities who supported us to make this a successful sports day.
