I am a Little Baker

On June 4th, 2016, volunteers Laimei, Josephine, and Jennifer took 13 children from You Dao’s Qingpu center to Bella Napoli restaurant to learn how to become a baker.
The master chef of Bela Napoli explained the art of baking and the importance of mastering the craft. The children eagerly applauded the chef’s introduction and were excited to get the hands on the work.
The children firstly put on their aprons and worked under the guidance of the master chef by kneading the dough. The children carefully followed his instructions and made the pizza just as the master chef did. The children were then allowed to use their imagination to make creative designs on their pizzas.
The next activity was to make ravioli. The children were all very eager to design their own pasta shapes. After awhile, the children showed off all of the strange dumpling shapes they had created.
Finally the pizzas were put into the stone oven and the ravioli were cooked. After a few minutes, the wonderful smell of pizza and ravioli filled the air. The children really enjoyed making their own pizzas and ravioli, but they enjoyed eating them even more!
The boss of Bella Napoli, Laimei, gave each child a small gift. The children were happy and thankful. We want to thank Bella Napoli for supporting such a great event.
